14-Year-Old Girl Guilty of Starting Cocos Fire: Judge

The girl faced four felony charges and a misdemeanor.

A 14-year-old girl was convicted Tuesday of starting last year’s devastating Cocos Fire by sparking a small fire in her backyard.

  1. I thought I was going to be happy with this verdict, but I find out that now we are here, I’m not. I try to picture if it was my kid. I hope they don’t make the sentencing too harsh.

    1. Community service is applicable here, I do believe. They could have her work on fire barrier/brush removal crews. Rather apropos methinks.
