My name is Lisa Christian and I have been a resident of San Elijo Hills for 8.5 years. This November, I will be participating in the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day(r). by walking 60 miles over the course of 3 days along the streets of San Diego. All proceeds from this event go towards raising awareness and funding research in finding new and better ways to detect the disease at its earliest stages. My hope is with the help of my neighbors and local businesses; I can raise enough money to reach my goal amount of $2,300.00. I am planning a “Pink” Fundraiser event Auction/Raffle in October – proceeds from this event will go towards my goal amount. If you have, or know of someone that owns a local business that would be willing to donate a gift card, service or item that could then be auctioned off, please contact me at LC23@cox.net. For those of you that would like to contribute monetarily, please visit my pink page at www.the3day.org/goto/Lisa.christian Thank you so much for your support San Elijo Hills and San Elijo Life!
San Marcos Sheriff is conducting a suicide investigation at San Marcos City Community Center in San Elijo Hills. We have pulled the details and ask for respect for the family and friends, this is a sad event.
Two students from walking San Elijo Middle were approached by a male in a white truck/SUV on Thursday 9.24.09. The male attempted to get them in his vehicle near the corner of Crescent and Sagewood Way in the San Elijo Hills. The girls ran to a neighbor’s house and called the San Marcos Sheriff’s Department. No one was injured. The only description is a male in his 20’s wearing a hat and sunglasses, driving a white truck or SUV.

We’ve been living in SEH for over 3 years. We knew we had hard water and been reluctantly living with it but it’s taking a visible toll on our showers, dishwasher etc. I can only imagine what our pipes look like at this point. Do you know anyone that can recommend an economical solution that works?

Letter we received from frustrated San Elijo Hills resident:
I’m a San Elijo Hills resident and an avid reader of this blog with a question I hope you can answer. Is there any way to rally the residents of our neighborhood regarding getting more cell towers installed? Is there anyway the San Elijo Life Blog can be used to help draw attention to this cause? My wife and I have lived here since 2004 – first in Westridge and now in the Azure/Saverne community. In both homes over these past five years our cell service has been horrible – my wife with Verizon and me with AT&T. We’ve tried various phones and when we entertain on weekends, our friends have the same issues with a slew of carriers. I work from a home office and have to pay for a land line simply because cell service is so horrible out here. I would’ve dropped the home line years ago if that weren’t the case. I can’t imagine we’re the only SEH residents with this complaint. That said, the million dollar question remains — how do we take action? How do we rally other frustrated residents? There is ZERO reason an up and coming community like ours is in the dark ages regarding cell phone coverage. I would be glad to get on board… write letters… rally troops. Whatever it takes. It only took five years, but I’m finally at my breaking point regarding this matter. Please advise as to how we can solve this problem for our neighborhood.
Post your comments as a show of support for improved cell phone coverage in San Elijo Hills!
