Automated Green-Waste Collection*

Startingmetal can in September 2014, current residential green-waste customers will receive a GREEN 95-gallon green-waste cart, please note that up to two additional green yard-waste carts are available at no additional cost. Residents with carts beyond three may request additional green-waste carts for a nominal fee. Use your green collection cart to separate landscape waste and other organic materials for collection each week on your scheduled EDCO service day and set out by 6 a.m.

*Only customers currently receiving green-waste collection service will receive a cart.

Recyclable Green Waste Includes
  • grass clippings
  • brush
  • weeds
  • hedge trimmings
  • branches
  • leaves
  • palm fronds
  • ice plant
  • ivy
  • floral decorations
  • Halloween pumpkins
  • Christmas trees (flocked trees are OK)
  • untreated and non-lead based painted wood


Place recyclable green waste directly into your designated green collection container. NO Plastic bags, please.


Please do not place any of the following materials in your designated green waste recycling container:

  • No plastic bags.
  • No kitchen scraps, fruit, trash or hazardous waste.
  • No animal waste.
  • No dirt, rocks, asphalt, concrete, sand, etc.
  • No treated or lead-based painted wood or lumber.

What Happens to Green Waste?
Green waste is used in a variety of diversion programs, including but not limited to land application and composting.

EDCO will pick up your old cans the week after your cart is deliverd.

WHEN WILL CARTS BE DELIVERED?

Automated green-waste carts will be delivered to all residential customers between September 15 – October 3, 2014

Automated green-waste collection will begin on your regularly scheduled service day the week following delivery of your new automated cart
