Local San Elijo Hills Resident On A Mission To Fight Against Human Trafficking!
Hello San Elijo Hills! My name is Erin Packard. I am a member of the San Elijo Hills community. Many of you may have attended the community safety night at San Elijo Middle School on Monday evening. Much of the discussion was led by the San Diego district attorney’s office to educate us regarding human trafficking, which is taking place in our very school district. I was so pleased to hear that they are bringing the “San Diego Trafficking Prevention Collective,” program right here to our school district; an educational program aimed at decreasing the number of children involved in human trafficking in San Diego. We will all be hearing more about this from our schools as the program begins to roll out. However, hearing the staggering statistics, heartbreaking stories, and how close to home this is happening made many in the room wondering what they can do NOW about this horrific reality. Here are two things you can do today to take action through a wonderful organization that works tirelessly in the fight against human trafficking. Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.). O.U.R. is a 501 c3 (EIN 46-3614979) non-profit which exists to rescue children from sex trafficking around the globe.
