“poor sales are bringing about the departure of Lowe’s from the city-owned Creekside Marketplace shopping center. This is no doubt partly due to the lack of customers from the San Elijo community making the trip ‘over the hill,’ having become more used to traveling south to shop.”

  1. No need to put the blame on SEH, it was simply a bad planning to put a Lowes next to a Home depot.
There are already way less customers in the Home depot in San marcos compared to the one in la Costa, there wasn’t a place for a new Lowes there.
Put a Target instead of Lowes and you will see customers coming…

  2. I live in SEH, and I go to both, but prefer Home Depot over Lowes, because I can’t find anyone who to help me at Lowes. There is just no customer support.

  3. There is a lowes in Escondido which is 13 minutes away from SEH according to Google Maps (San Marcos Lowes was 10 mins away) so i’m not sure SEH has anything to do with it. Also, the more likely reason for the closure is that they are opening a lowes on the corner of Palomar Airport Road and El Camino Real.
