The SEES Choir, SEMS Jazz Band/Choir and Double Peak School will perform Holiday inspired music!

Residents will see Santa this year in a decorated snow globe and experience fun entertainment with interactive characters including a stilt walker and juggling elf!Enjoy the SEMS jazz band and choir performances and a DJ for fun Holiday music throughout the evening!Yummy churros will be served from several stations in the park with our traditional hot cocoa and hot apple cider.Please support our wonderful local businesses! The San Elijo Hills Community Association is hosting our annual community-wide yard sale! All residents are welcome to participate in this FREE event!
This year we will split the community into two sections (North and South). This will allow residents to shop and participate in the sale!

TGIF! Friday Night Fever is coming……..On Friday, March 20th join us in the 70’s for a disco dance party! Our 1st ever LED VIDEO DANCE FLOOR will really inspire you to shake your groove thing! Residents 21 and over can boogie down and enjoy a night to join friends and neighbors for food, music, dancing, drinks, prizes and fabulous fun! The party will begin at 7:00 pm at the San Elijo Hills REC center located at 1105 Elfin Forest Road, San Marcos, CA 92078. Don’t forget to wear your most outrageous 70’s or disco outfit. Who knows? You may just win a cool prize! Attendance to this event is limited! Cost is $5.00/person. You must provide a check (no cash) payable to San Elijo Hills and deliver to Liz McCardle at the San Elijo Hills onsite office in order to reserve your spot! It’s almost time for our annual community garden lottery! Grow your own flowers, vegetables, and herbs! Plots will be available from 4.1.20– 3.31.21. The cost of a yearly lease is $50.00. All existing lessees must reapply for the lottery. If you currently have a space, and will be vacating, please contact Liz McCardle in advance. If you would like to participate in the lottery to lease a space in one of the community gardens, please submit your application to Liz McCardle no later than 3.15.20. The San Elijo Hills Community Association is having its Annual BUNNYPALOOZA on Saturday, April 4th at the Hilltop field of San Elijo Hills Park. Activities will include an egg hunt, inflatables, face painting, crafts, photo-ops with the Easter bunny, light refreshments, and more! A DJ will be entertaining us with music, games, and an obstacle course so parents and kids of all ages can enjoy some friendly competition! BUNNYPALOOZA will begin at 9:30AM and run until 11:30 PM. Town Square Fountain
The fountain in our town square park is a valued feature of our community, and enjoyed by all of our residents. There has been an increase in vandalism to the fountain. Soap has been poured into the water on multiple occasions. When these types of vandalism occur, the fountain has to be drained and the necessary repairs are performed. This is very costly to the Association (approximately $1, 000 each incident!). We encourage you to speak to your kids, and help us stop the ongoing damage. The Board of Directors will be looking into options for monitoring the fountain and intend to press charges with the authorities. We appreciate your help!

— The annual Oktoberfest in San Elijo Hills in San Marcos proved to be the community’s most popular event yet. Although 2,000 people attended the festival every year, folks say it still has a small community feel. Alpana Patel says she brings her family every year and loves seeing all of her neighbors in one place. “It’s a great way to run into people.”San Elijo resident Mike Adams says he enjoys bringing all five of his children to the fair because of “all the rides, all the fun, all the food, great for the community. All the kids can hang out with their friends.” “There is just an incredible sense of community here,” realtor Ed Philbrick said. “I think it’s an amazing value compared to other surrounding communities. I mean with this event for example, you probably have an event per month when you look at it, and the events are pretty elaborate. There is a lot going on. Here you have a climbing wall, a (Ferris) wheel, food, beer (beer garden). There’s always something going on in San Elijo and so it’s hard to complain about the value that you are getting. People aren’t always happy with HOAs but that’s not really the case here.”

Oktoberfest!
Prost!! It’s finally here……join us for our most popular event of the year! Come celebrate Oktoberfest with your neighbors on Sunday, October 13th from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM at the lower softball field of San Elijo Hills Park! We will be celebrating German traditions through food! Bratwurst, hot links, hot dogs, veggie dogs, potato salad, Caesar salad, sauerkraut, soft pretzels, and apple strudel will be served. Beverages will include ice water, lemonade, iced tea, and root beer floats! For all residents 21 and over, a beer garden will also be available. If you don’t drink beer, we will have several varieties of wines! You must bring a valid state-issued driver’s license or ID. Four drink tickets will be given per household. No outside alcohol will be permitted into the event. A lively DJ will be playing some German music mixed in with some modern, family-fun hits that will be sure to get you on your feet and dancing! Carnival games will be sure to entertain our young residents! We will also have face painting, pumpkin decorating, arts & crafts, a rock-climbing wall, inflatables, photo booth, tubs of fun ride, elephant aviation ride, 25’ gondola Ferris wheel, zombie maze craze 90’ mega obstacle course, and much, much more!
Please remember to bring proof of residency to gain entrance into the event (i.e.: driver’s license with on-site address, utility bill, HOA statement, etc.). Unfortunately, we will not be able to allow you to enter the event without verifying residency. If your teens or kids come on their own, please remind them to bring identification. Tree Trimming
Please remember to trim any trees growing over the sidewalks or dropping seeds or leaves. They can create unsafe conditions for people and pets (poor little puppy paws!). We appreciate your efforts in keeping the sidewalks and streets looking great!
Dogs
Please pick up after your pets and remind your children to do so as well if they are responsible for the dog-walking duties. Pet waste is probably the #1 complaint amongst our residents so please be diligent and keep San Elijo Hills looking and smelling beautiful!
Trails Cleanup Day-CANCELLED
Our trails cleanup event as part of the California Coastal Cleanup Day (CCD) has been canceled at the San Elijo Hills location. Please go to their website www.creektobay.org if you are interested in participating in another location. We apologize for the inconvenience.

The San Elijo Hills Community Association is hosting a FREE showing of Warner Brother’s The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (rated PG) tonight!
It’s been five years since everything was awesome and the citizens are facing a huge new threat: Lego Duplo invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild.
The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part will be shown on Friday, July 19th at the Town Square Park in the town center. Pre-show activities will begin at 6:00 PM and the movie will start after sunset (around 8:30 PM). The screen will be located in the northeast corner of the park. Remember to bring your low-back beach chairs and blankets for lawn seating! Summer Luau-TOMORROW!
Aloha! The San Elijo Hills Community Association is kicking off summer with a luau! Come in your island wear to the lower softball field of San Elijo Hills Park on June 29th from 5pm-8pm! Experience the essence of the islands, and enjoy the music and Polynesian dancers performing throughout the evening. Food will be provided including Polynesian chicken, Kahlua pork, hot dogs, Hawaiian rice, Hawaiian Cole slaw, bread, and pineapple wedges! Hula on over to our tropical inspired carnival…enjoy inflatables, carnival games, and prize booth. This year will include a 90-foot obstacle course (our largest ever!), surf simulator, round up amusement ride, and first ever coconut climb!
