After a challenging year in the fitness industry, FIT4MOM® – creator of Stroller Strides and the nation’s largest prenatal and postpartum fitness company – is coming out strong, and celebrating 20 years of Strength in MotherhoodTM by hosting free mega classes across the country this month. FIT4MOM underwent a massive pivot in 2020, transitioning from in-person fitness classes and communities to offering virtual workouts on Zoom, and launching the new FIT4MOM On Demand App, offering workouts moms can do from anywhere.

While the pandemic impacted FIT4MOM franchisees and small business owners heavily, the 20-year anniversary is the perfect way to unite communities back together again and begin rebuilding after the past year. FIT4MOM, which was founded in 2001, has now grown to offer more than 300 franchise owners and 2,000 locations nationwide.

The company will be hosting “Exercisepalooza” themed workouts in cities across the U.S., offering samples of various FIT4MOM class formats and a throwback playlist featuring top hits from the year it all began.

Launched Gather; a 30-day family nutrition plan and recipe guide

Donated more than $10,000 to various charities including The Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Every Mother Counts and The Black Women’s Health Imperative

Began offering FIT4MOM classes at select YMCA locations in San Diego, CA and Asheville, NC


Launched a Diversity Committee and hosted diversity and inclusion trainings for all employees, franchisees and instructors nationwide

10 Tips To Make 2014 Your Healthiest Year From FIT4MOM

Shrink The Change. Don’t try to do too much, too hard, too fast. Choose just one thing at a time and commit 100% for 21 days or until it becomes a habit.  If you are setting a goal that you’ve set before, you need to decide why this time is going to be different. Figure out how you will overcome your obstacles and truly connect with the result you want.

 

  1. Do something every day that makes you feel proud. When you have a decision to make, whether it’s to workout or what food to eat, make the choice that will make you feel proud.

  2. Create a Vision. Create a vision board of what you want your life to look like, feel like. Set some SMART goals to help you achieve that vision.

  3. Change Your Perception. You can’t control the stimulus, but you can control your response. This year, try a new more positive response to a situation. When you simply change your lens of a situation, you can see a new possibility.

  4. Get Comfortable With Uncomfortable – Get out of your comfort zone! Really, do it! Work out harder, workout more. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone. If it doesn’t scare you a little, it’s not big enough. I’m not saying to jump out of a plane. Just take a step more than you did before. Do something each day that will make you proud.

  5. Water. Yes, you’ve heard it before but it truly is a key to health. Fill up a 64 oz jug of water at the beginning of the day and finish it by the end of the day!

  6. The best way to make exercise a habit is to book it.  Plan it on your schedule like any other appointment. Make it non negotiable. Plan to workout every day, knowing that 1 – 2 days per week something will come up.

  7. Fill your fridge! The best way to ensure healthy eating is to have a house filled with healthy choices. Pack your refrigerator with tons of fresh choices. Aim to get veggies in at every meal!

  8. Positive Thinking. Yes, this is a healthy habit! Optimism is good for you and it can be learned. Set an intention for the day and turn around negative talk. People who practice being positive have lower risks of disease and healthier lifestyles.

  9. Focus On The “Cans”. Focus on the good things you can add to your regime rather than thinking of what you have to deprive yourself of. This positive approach of bringing in more good things to your life will leave you with less time and less room for the bad stuff.

  10. Don’t Go It Alone. Join your spouse and your fellow neighbors in living a healthier lifestyle. You may flake on yourself but you won’t flake on your friend who is waiting for you to run! Join a group. Do it together!
