The San Marcos Summer Music Fest – formerly known as the Rock, Blues & BBQ festival – is being revived on Saturday, June 11 from 12 to 9 pm at Walnut Grove Park.
With live music, food, vendors, the event features everything from Chicago-style old school blues to reggae to country and classic rock.
San Marcos vendors will offer BBQ to satisfy our foodie guests; other snacks and soft drinks will be available for purchase. The Friends of San Marcos Parks and recreation will be sponsoring a beer and wine garden featuring local brews from Stone Brewery, Lost Abbey and more.
Ticket prices are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Children 12 and under are free.

The San Marcos Rock and Blues Festival will return to Walnut Grove Park on Friday, June 5 from 5 to 9 pm and Saturday, June 6 from 12 to 8 pm for two days of soulful music and tasty BBQ.
The annual event will feature music from acoustic guitar to Chicago-style old school blues, to rock of the ‘60s and ‘70s. Bands slated to play at the festival include Surf’s Up, Missy Anderson, Bill Magee Blues, Stoney B Blues, Woodstock Mud, Earl Thomas and Craig’s Band.
In addition, the Friends of San Marcos Parks and Recreation will sponsor a beer and wine garden. Local beer from Stone Brewery, Markstein Beverage Co. and more will be for sale.
San Marcos High School Music Boosters invites you to join them for an evening of Jazz at the Lake on Friday, September 26th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Enjoy an evening of food, friendship, and lively jazz performed by the SMHS music directors and their selected colleagues. Tickets are $30 and include heavy hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and a no-host bar. In addition to an evening filled with professional jazz music, the event will include a wine wall and silent auction. Shiver me timbers and batten down the hatches! San Elijo Hills is excited to invite all our mateys to come celebrate spring with us pirate-style on Saturday, July 26th at Hilltop field of San Elijo Park from 2:00PM-5:00PM. Activities include:

Concessions including popcorn and cotton candy

Movie Under the Stars: Part 3: Friday, August 8th
The San Elijo Hills Community Association is hosting a FREE showing of The Lego Movie (rated PG) as part of our summer movie series!
“The LEGO Movie is a 3D animated film which follows lead character, Emmet, a completely ordinary LEGO mini-figure who is identified as the most “extraordinary person” and the key to saving the Lego universe. Emmet and his friends go on an epic journey to stop the evil tyrant, Lord Business.”
The movie will be shown on Friday, August 8th at the lower softball field of San Elijo Park. Pre-show activities (including bounce houses, a sticky wall and more!) will begin at 6:00PM and the movie will start at sunset (around 8:00PM). Remember to bring your low-back beach chairs and blankets for lawn seating! A few awesome food trucks will be there and will have a variety of refreshments available for purchase.
Please note the following to ensure that we may continue to be allowed to use the sports fields for our events:
-No dogs are allowed on the field (with the exception of service dogs).
-All trash must be picked up and disposed of in the provided receptacles.
-There this no alcohol or glass containers permitted.
-Please do not park in the designated “Caretaker Parking” spots.
The San Elijo Hills Community Association is joining with the City of San Marcos to present a free concert with “The Reflexx”, an 80’s New Wave Tribute band. The concert will be held at the lower softball field of San Elijo Park on Saturday, August 9th from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
This dance party for all ages will feature a variety of food trucks selling their specialties as well as some awesome inflatables for the kids to enjoy!

Canvas Painting in the Park: Sunday, August 10th
Are you looking for a fun activity to do with your kids before they head back to school? Or, are you interested in learning a new artistic talent? If so, we have the perfect event for you! A Colorful Universe in conjunction with the HOA is inviting our residents to come out and enjoy a class of painting your very own canvas in the park! The 90 minute class will be held on Sunday, August 10th at 3:00PM in the Town Square. All ages and all ability levels are welcome! The cost to participate is $10.00/person.

Musical Recital Featuring Children & Adult Performers from the North County Academy of Music Performance & Leading Note Studios to be Held at Café Stoked in San Elijo Hills
San Marcos, CA, July 9, 2014 – San Elijo Hills will come alive with the sound of music on Sunday, July 20th starting at 11am at Café Stoked, when local children and adult performers from the North County Academy of Music Performance (NCAMP) and Leading Note Studios take the stage to share their vocal and instrumental talents in a music recital for the community.
Novice to seasoned musicians will perform a variety of well-known songs to entertain Café Stoked attendees. Following this free event, attendees of Café Stoked will have the opportunity to meet veteran vocal and instrumental coach, Debbie Nicastro, from NCAMP and Leading Note Studios. This music industry veteran can provide expert advice, and discuss their studios full-range of services which encompass voice and all instruments.

Join the San Marcos High Music Boosters for an entertaining evening of music performed by the award winning and internationally recognized San Marcos High School Band at their annual Winter Concert on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at the San Elijo Performing Arts Center at 1600 Schoolhouse Way in San Marcos. The concert is open to the public and is one of the band’s premiere fundraisers.
A Silent Auction will begin at 6:15 pm in the foyer of the theatre. Silent Auction items include theme baskets and exclusive deals from local restaurants and North County businesses. All donations are tax deductible.
The evening boasts a full repertoire of music. Beginning at 7:00 p.m. the Jazz Ensemble, the Symphonic Band, and the Choir will perform holiday musical pieces. Finally, the San Marcos Knight Regiment Marching Band will perform a standstill version of its award winning fall show “Paradise Lost” as a finale.
