Lane closures scheduled along Twin Oaks Valley Road

Beginning Monday, July 18, multiple lane closures have been scheduled along S. Twin Oaks Valley Rd. from Village Drive to Double Peak School. Traffic may be affected Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm in order to accommodate construction of a potable water line for the new Rancho Coronado housing development.

All lane closures are expected to be lifted by Friday, August 5. Delays in the schedule may occur due to inclement weather conditions or other unforeseen conditions.

Although two-way traffic will be maintained along S. Twin Oaks Valley Rd, motorists can expect intermittent detours at S. Village Drive. Flaggers may be posted to help facilitate traffic flow.

Traffic delays are anticipated and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes or leave early to get to destinations on time.

Workshop on development plans for Hanson property construction, including K-8 school near Cal State San Marcos

Early Design Concept for Hanson Property in San Marcos

A public workshop was held Monday night (4.30.12) to discuss potential development plans for the Hanson Property near Cal State San Marcos. Representatives for the city of San Marcos, San Marcos Unified School District, and the developer presented.  The casual workshop was designed to gain feedback from the surrounding communities and answer questions. About thirty San Marcos residents attended the session at City Hall.

Basic Design Concept for new K-8 School

New K-8 School 1st phase would be K-8 School to be constructed on the west side of the property on Twin Oaks Road; North of the future site of South Lake Park. Construction would included sports fields and a gymnasium. The school would have two access points for car traffic. The school is expected to have one unified release schedule for all grades K-8. A new stop light would be placed on Twin Oaks Road. Construction would take 12-18 months with the school opening September 2015. The San Marcos School District will hold public workshops in the future regarding enrollment boundaries for San Elijo Hills & Discovery Lake area and new construction.
